PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vladamir Bear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mitkhun Chakraborti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mitkhun Chakraborti!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chakraborti pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Chakraborti throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
letting Bear counter with a right hand.
Chakraborti lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bear circles away quickly and effectively.
Chakraborti is looking to clinch.

Bear closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Chakraborti's guard.

Bear might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Bear postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Chakraborti is looking to stand back up but Bear counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Chakraborti.

Bear's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Bear seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Chakraborti for as long as he can get away with.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Bear has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The referee warns Chakraborti that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

We're going to have a standup here because Vladamir Bear wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Chakraborti dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Bear. That did some damage!

Chakraborti lands a big head kick that sends Bear tumbling to the mat! Chakraborti takes a step backwards and waves Bear back to his feet - he wants the finish!


It looks like Vladamir Bear has been cut.
Chakraborti buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Chakraborti connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Chakraborti cracks Bear on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Bear falls backwards against the ropes. Chakraborti follows up with more strikes that drop Bear to his knees. Chakraborti keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Bear! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 9:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mitkhun Chakraborti!
