Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jeff Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Maciej Irokez!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Williams throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Irokez was covering up waiting for the punch and Williams finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Irokez looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Williams is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Irokez can do anything to dispel that myth.
Williams tries to free his leg and advance position but Irokez is retaining full guard.

Williams thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Williams is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Williams wants to pass the guard but Irokez is keeping the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jeff Williams wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Williams throws a hook to the side of Irokez's head but Irokez sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Williams.
Irokez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Williams. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Williams works to advance to full mount. Irokez defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Williams lands a nice shot to the head.
Irokez in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Williams tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Williams is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Williams!
