The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Aafke Stam and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vallego shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Groot but Groot pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Vallego fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Groot avoids it really well and circles away.
Groot with a hook.
Vallego shoots in looking for a takedown but Groot manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Vallego's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Javier Vallego. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Groot lands a big head kick that sends Vallego tumbling to the mat! Groot takes a step backwards and waves Vallego back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Vallego is rocked!
Vallego dives in and grabs Groot's left leg, looking for a takedown. Groot pushes down on Vallego's head and hops out.
Oh Vallego is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Groot fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Groot lands a big right hand that sends Vallego crashing to the mat! Groot stays standing though and waves Vallego back to his feet!
Vallego is breathing heavily.
A big right followed by a crushing left from Groot knocks Vallego out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Ramon Groot!
