The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A chopping leg kick lands by Drennan.
Drennan with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Rutecki tries to clinch
enabling Drennan to counter with a crisp jab.
Rutecki closes the distance looking to clinch
and Drennan counters with a nice uppercut.
Rutecki wants to clinch
and Drennan counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and Drennan counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Rutecki throws a head kick that misses
and Drennan counters with a nice low kick that buckles Rutecki's knee momentarily.

Rutecki wants to clinch but Drennan slips to the side
and Drennan counters with a slapping leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Drennan lands a leg kick that knocks Rutecki off balance momentarily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Drennan turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Drennan is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Rutecki had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Drennan tests Rutecki's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Drennan bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Rutecki chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Drennan can pounce on him.
Drennan lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Drennan moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Drennan scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Drennan throws a good cross that connects.
Drennan throws a shot to the body.
Rutecki walks into a left hand.
A chopping leg kick lands by Drennan.
Drennan lunges at Rutecki with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Rutecki's hand.
Drennan cracks the inside of Rutecki's front leg.
Rutecki gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Rutecki is rocked!
Look low, kick high! Drennan uses the oldest trick in the book to send Rutecki tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Drennan is absolutely delighted - when Rutecki wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!
