Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dan Bach! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tee Shirt! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Hugh Johnson and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sloppy strikes from Bach. Those never looked like landing. Shirt tries to close the distance and clinch but Bach swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Shirt is looking to clinch. Bach bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The ground and pound from Bach seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Shirt regains half guard, as Bach was trying to land strikes. Shirt is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Bach pulls his head out easily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shirt is staying active underneath Bach, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Bach throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Bach looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Shirt with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Shirt can do anything to dispel that myth. Bach landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Shirt looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bach throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Shirt looking for submissions off his back.

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Shirt is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Bach pulls his head out easily. Nice strikes from Bach there. Shirt actively working from the bottom here. Bach lands strikes from half guard. Shirt has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bach is working away from the top position though. Bach is keen to just control but Shirt is a slippery customer. Bach thows a huge punch but Shirt dodges it nicely.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bach connects with a nice short shot to Shirt's temple. Shirt looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Shirt tries to roll over but Bach keeps him under control. Bach looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. Bach is trying to control the action in half guard but Shirt is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Bach is nestled in close to Shirt, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Bach working over Shirt with some ground and pound. Shirt looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shirt trying to control from the bottom.
Bach takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Bach looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. Ground and pound from Bach. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bach seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. Bach lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Shirt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bach. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Bach looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shirt is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Bach scores with a couple of nice shots. Bach lands with a punch from half guard. Bach is pressing down on Shirt's thigh, looking to free his foot. Shirt is holding on for now. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Bach lands a nice short elbow. Bach is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Bach seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Shirt does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Shirt taking some punishment here, with Bach in his half guard. Shirt is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Shirt is looking to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan Bach dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Shirt gets caught napping as Bach dives in and scores a takedown. Shirt manages to retain guard. Dan Bach overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Shirt throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Shirt is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bach is aware though and is defending well. Bach is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Shirt can do to turn this around? Shirt has momentary wrist control but Bach slips an elbow through the middle. Bach distracts Shirt with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Shirt is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bach defends well. Bach with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Shirt is breathing heavily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Shirt avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Bach postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Bach loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bach is looking to work some ground and pound but Shirt has wrist control. Shirt preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bach accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Bach wants to control from the top but Shirt keeps moving. Shirt escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bach gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Bach trying to control the position from guard on top but Shirt is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Bach's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Bach works over Shirt with some ground and pound from guard. Bach working some strikes from top position. Shirt utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Bach trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shirt throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Bach escapes and throws Shirt's legs to the side, diving into side control! Bach is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Shirt is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bach connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Shirt some visible discomfort.

Shirt wants to control but Bach postures up. Bach is working Shirt over with some ground and pound from side control. Shirt wants to control but Bach postures up. Bach has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Bach working the head and body with strikes. Shirt tries to improve position but can't. Bach goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Shirt has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Bach but great work by Shirt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bach is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Shirt asserts his dominance and retains side control. Shirt fails to land a wild elbow strike.

A bit of a lull in the action here. Shirt misses with the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bach stuck in half guard on the bottom here. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Bach tries to bench press Shirt off him but Shirt keeps the position. Bach regains half guard, as Shirt was trying to land strikes. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bach wants to control but Shirt is keeping busy and won't allow it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shirt is rocked! Bach breaks from Shirt's wrist control and lands an elbow. Shirt is still in real trouble! Can Bach finish him? Whack. That's a big, big shot from Bach! Shirt is out cold! This one is all over!
