Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alex Gee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dmitri Matyushenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alex Gee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dmitri Matyushenko!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matyushenko fails with the takedown

and Gee counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Matyushenko!
Gee trying to control but Matyushenko is having none of it.
Matyushenko is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Gee is stalling here but it's allowed Matyushenko to get half guard.
Gee stalling.
Gee throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Gee trying to control from Matyushenko's half guard. Matyushenko has other ideas though and has regained full guard.

Matyushenko manages to escape and get back to his feet.

so Matyushenko counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Matyushenko working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Dmitri Matyushenko wasn't active enough on the ground.

and Gee counters with a three punch combo that has Matyushenko backing up. Matyushenko nods at Gee to acknowledge the strikes.

Alex Gee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dmitri Matyushenko.

Matyushenko bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gee is breathing heavily.
Matyushenko trying to control the position but Gee is working away.
Matyushenko throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Gee is looking for a sweep.

Let's hope that Matyushenko has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Gee is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Matyushenko moves into full mount! Gee won't be happy about that!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Matyushenko takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


A clash of legs there as Matyushenko blocks the low kick.

Gee drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Matyushenko has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Gee is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Matyushenko works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Matyushenko got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gee has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Matyushenko has managed to get both his arms back between Gee's legs - danger averted.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Matyushenko advances to half guard.
Matyushenko looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Matyushenko's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Gee takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Matyushenko is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Gee sneaks back into half guard.
Gee wants to get back to his feet.
Matyushenko is taking a breather. Gee says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Matyushenko slips a nice elbow through Gee's hands, connecting with Gee's forehead.

Dmitri Matyushenko showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!



Matyushenko shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Matyushenko was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Matyushenko takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Matyushenko cracks Gee with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Matyushenko postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Gee looks a forlorn figure.
