Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Phil Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Cox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson comes to the cage accompanied by Rampage Song. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sean Cox! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cox moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Cox shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Jackson counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Cox lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
It looks like Phil Jackson has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cox darts in trying to clinch and Jackson counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Cox thinking. Jackson jabs Cox to the body, keeping him at a distance. Cox tries for a takedown but Jackson circles away easily and Jackson counters with a series of strikes. Cox will be more careful next time no doubt. Cox gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Jackson counters with a left to the body. Phil Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sean Cox. Cox looks gassed! Jackson looks to land a combination but Cox avoids it well. Cox tries to clinch up and Jackson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Cox misses with a takedown and Jackson counters with a nice double leg into guard. Jackson is in close to Cox's body, working some short punches and elbows. Jackson is looking to stand up but Cox won't let him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cox wriggles free and stands up. Cox misses with a takedown attempt and Jackson counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Cox! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jackson scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Cox?

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Jackson keeping moving, preventing Cox from controlling successfully. Cox prevents Jackson from getting back to his feet. Cox sitting in guard here, content to control. Cox trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Sean Cox has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Cox throws a combination that misses and Jackson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Cox shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Jackson counters with a nice double leg into guard. Jackson wants to stand but Cox has a closed guard, so he can't escape. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cox has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Jackson finds it's way round the side to connect with Cox's head. Cox walks into a jab. Cox throws a sloppy head kick and Jackson moves out of range easily.

This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Cox. Jackson misses with the combination.

Cox misses with a takedown and Jackson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. A right-left combo lands from Jackson. Cox with a poor takedown enabling Jackson to counter with a crisp jab. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jackson scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Not much technique there but it did the business. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Jackson throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

He's got his arms around Jackson's waist but Jackson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cox off to one side. Jackson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Cox napping and manages to drive through into side control! Jackson with the ground and pound but Cox regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Jackson trying to advance position but Cox counters by regaining guard. Cox keeping full guard, as Jackson tries to pass. Jackson trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Cox manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Sean Cox has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cox trying to control the position but Jackson is working away. Jackson stops Cox from passing to mount. Cox works to advance to full mount. Jackson defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Cox trying to control but Jackson is having none of it. Cox raining down hammerfists from mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Cox has taken his back.

Cox is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Jackson defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Jackson holding both Cox 's hands and preventing any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Cox tightening his grip on Jackson, looking for the choke. Jackson is trying to break free.

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Sean Cox. Well Jackson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
