Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Georges Bataille (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charlie Runkle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bataille kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Dance Hall Days. Charlie Runkle has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Georges Bataille's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Georges Bataille! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Charlie Runkle! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A shot to the liver by Runkle. Beautiful body shot. Georges Bataille seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bataille dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Runkle. That did some damage! A good leg kick by Bataille. Bataille swings widly with a right hand
and Runkle makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Runkle ducks right into an uppercut from Bataille. Runkle connects with a jab. Bataille throws a front kick aimed at Runkle's knee but Runkle avoids it well. Bataille throws a leg kick but Runkle sees it coming and moves out of range. Bataille throws a jab when Runkle was well out of range. Runkle connects with a body shot that sends Bataille's belly button to the back. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bataille tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Runkle shoots for a takedown but Bataille saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Bataille bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Runkle's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Runkle tests Bataille's chin there with a solid looking shot. Georges Bataille is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Bataille throws a looping overhand right but Runkle ducks down to avoid it. Bataille has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Runkle. Runkle bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Bataille misses with a low kick.
Runkle throws a half hearted mid kick. Runkle slips a jab from Bataille. Bataille throws a lazy uppercut
and Runkle makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Runkle keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Runkle misses with a kick to the body.
Good exchange - Runkle coming out on top. Bataille fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Runkle checks it well. Bataille connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Bataille throws a sloppy head kick and Runkle moves out of range easily. Bataille tries to clinch there but Runkle circles away.
Bataille tries to clinch but fails miserably and Runkle counters with an outside leg kick.
Bataille cracks Runkle with an open hand slap. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Runkle avoids the head kick by Bataille.
Bataille tries to sprawl but Runkle drives through with a takedown into half guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Runkle wants to pass to mount but Bataille is defending the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bataille avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Runkle. Runkle has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Runkle seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bataille does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Bataille has hold of Runkle's hands but Runkle slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Bataille regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Runkle. Bataille knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Runkle on the ground. Runkle postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bataille is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Runkle, into his guard. Bataille stopping the sweep attempt from Runkle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Runkle is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bataille defends well. Runkle looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Bataille passes into side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A lull in the action here as Bataille stalls from top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Georges Bataille will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Bataille tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Bataille pivots, looking for a leg kick but Runkle is out of range and Bataille settles back down. A low kick from Bataille is predictable there and Runkle cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Bataille throws a wild body kick that Runkle sees coming a mile off. Bataille misses with a low kick.
Bataille misses with a wild body shot. Bataille closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Bataille tried to score with a low kick but Runkle checks it. Runkle scores with a decent looking hook. Runkle scores a takedown into full mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. Runkle with the ground and pound from mount. Bataille is squirming around, avoiding Runkle's attempts to control the action. Runkle looking to finish with strikes here!
Runkle looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Runkle thowing shots but they're missing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Runkle pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Runkle with good strikes from the mount here! Bataille really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Runkle looking to ground and pound but Bataille is blocking nicely. Bataille takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Runkle looking to control but Bataille is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Bataille avoids a series of strikes thrown by Runkle.
Runkle trying to control but Bataille is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Runkle raining down shots from the mount!
Bataille is rocked! Bataille takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Runkle's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
