0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Seppo Pesonen! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Paulo Santos and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Taqtarov tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Pesonen swivels and escapes. Taqtarov instigates a clinch. Taqtarov pulls guard. Pesonen tries to free his leg and advance position but Taqtarov is retaining full guard. Taqtarov is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Taqtarov on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Taqtarov tries to get out of the position. Pesonen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pesonen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Taqtarov seems keen to control Pesonen's posture. Pesonen should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Pesonen pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Taqtarov is keeping the position for now. Pesonen stopping the sweep attempt from Taqtarov. Taqtarov really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Pesonen forces his way into half guard. Taqtarov is staying active underneath Pesonen, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Pesonen is pressing down on Taqtarov's thigh, looking to free his foot. Taqtarov is holding on for now. Pesonen seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Taqtarov is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
