PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Murray Head (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Blimm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Head's entrance music is Murray Head - One Night in Bangkok. A fine choice. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Murray Head!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bobby Blimm!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Alexandre Firmino and Thiago Cunha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blimm walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Head stuffs the takedown attempt from Blimm. Blimm gets slowly back to his feet.
Blimm blocks the body kick.
Blimm on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Blimm has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Blimm there as he acknowledges the shot.
Blimm tries for a takedown but Head circles away easily
and Head counters with a nice body kick.
Blimm shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Head as he jumps to the side.
Murray Head has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bobby Blimm.
Blimm will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Blimm drives through and clinches with Head against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Head misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Head dodges an elbow strike from Blimm.

Head breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Head connects with a good right hand that stumbles Blimm. Blimm circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Head getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Blimm is rocked!
Blimm gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Head gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Blimm is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Murray Head!
