And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Thiago Cunha and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendonca connects with a nice looking jab.
B looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
B moves out of range as Mendonca throws a body kick.
B throws a head kick that misses.
B wants to clinch up but Mendonca keeps it at a distance.
Mendonca throws a head kick that misses.
Mendonca avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
B connects with a high kick.
Mendonca looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Mendonca throws the kick towards the body but B avoids it.
Leonardo Mendonca seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
B misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Mendonca throws a push kick but B slaps the foot to one side.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Mendonca, right into the meat.
B shoots in looking for a takedown. Mendonca tries to sprawl out of it but B keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mendonca manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Mendonca lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Mendonca throws a sloppy head kick and B moves out of range easily.
B pushes Mendonca up against the cage in a clinch.
B fails to pull guard.
Mendonca manages to break the clinch.
B looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Mendonca!

The referee warns Mendonca that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Mendonca is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
B looking to control but Mendonca is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mendonca wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
B thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
B won't let Mendonca get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

B has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Mendonca trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Mendonca stops B from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
B looking to ground and pound but Mendonca is blocking nicely.
Mendonca is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
B goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Mendonca turns into him and now he's in B's guard.
Mendonca gets to his feet. B looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

and B counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Mendonca fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. B looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Mendonca scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Leonardo Mendonca is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
B changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
B lands with a nice combination. Mendonca backs away looking to recover.
B misses with a double jab.
B chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Mendonca can pounce on him.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mendonca misses with a straight right.
B lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
B tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A head kick by Mendonca misses
and B counters with a head kick. That will keep Mendonca thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Mendonca! B is out on his feet! Mendonca rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - B is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! B is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
