Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Frank Tank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Uri Boyka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frank Tank looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Frank Tank!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Uri Boyka!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Boyka looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Boyka looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Boyka trying to control from half guard but Tank is working away.
Boyka content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Boyka wants to control but Tank is keeping him busy.

Uri Boyka has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Boyka closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Boyka escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Boyka works over Tank's head and body with a nice combination.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Boyka feints and as Tank raises his hands in defense, Boyka changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Boyka would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Boyka must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Boyka trying to control but Tank is working from the bottom.

Tank is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Boyka defends well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tank is breathing heavily.
Boyka advances to half guard.
Tank is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Tank is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Boyka pulls his head out easily.

Boyka is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Tank has managed to free his arm - good work.
Tank won't allow Boyka to pass to mount.
Boyka is controlling the pace.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Tank is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Boyka pulls his head out easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Boyka takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Boyka trying to control from half guard but Tank is working away.
Boyka controlling the pace.
Boyka really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tank. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Boyka tries to pass the half guard into mount. Tank knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Uri Boyka.

Boyka looking to score a takedown here. Tank is defending well but Boyka drives through and ends up in Tank's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Boyka controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Tank is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Boyka trying to control the position from guard on top but Tank is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tank is on top in guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tank sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Boyka's guard.
Tank is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Boyka!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Uri Boyka dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Boyka throws a right hand that Tank ducks under and follows up with a left that Tank also avoids with ease.

Boyka moves into range and clinches up with Tank.

Boyka is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Tank can't fight it off and eventually Boyka manages to take the fight to the floor. Tank looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Tank is looking for a triangle but Boyka pushes his legs off easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Tank keeping moving, preventing Boyka from controlling successfully.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Tank is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Boyka has his hands clasped together but Tank extends an breaks Boyka's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Tank.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Frank Tank!
