Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice sprawl there from Vargas as Blues shoots in. Vargas feints a jab promting Blues to slip. Vargas then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Blues slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Vargas tries to bum rush Blues with a series of wild strikes but Blues uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Blues tries to close the distance and clinch but Vargas swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Vargas misses with a few strikes there.
Blues manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Vargas on his heels. He'll look to pass Vargas's guard now, I'm sure. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Blues's corner is telling him to maintain position. Blues wants to pass the guard but Vargas is keeping the position. Blues gets to his feet. Vargas looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Vargas tries to clinch but Blues moves out of range. Blues throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Vargas counters with a stiff right hand. Blues throws a head kick that misses and Vargas counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Blues thinking.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blues fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Blues keeps the fight on the outside. Blues closes the distance and pushes Vargas back into the cage. A battle for position here, against the cage. Blues gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Vargas is trying to stand back up but Blues is controlling him
Blues looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Vargas pushes Blues off looking to stand but Blues dives back in and keeps control.
Vargas is defending against the submission attempts here by Blues.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Blues trying to control the pace. Vargas looks like he's trying to stand up.
Blues content to control rather than advance. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vargas tries to kick Blues off but Blues keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blues is taking a breather. Vargas says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Nice strikes from Blues there. Blues escapes and gets back to his feet. Vargas throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Blues counters with a single leg into guard. Vargas didn't expect that. Blues controlling from the top position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Blues thows a big elbow that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Blues is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jake Blues wasn't doing enough on the ground. Blues changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Vargas looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. You can see the frustration on Vargas's face as Blues controls the position. Blues tries to advance to mount but Vargas instead regains half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jake Blues dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Blues moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Vargas moves in looking to clinch but Blues pushes him off. Blues keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Blues lands a jab-cross combination. Vargas throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Vargas throws a combination. Blues tries to block but a couple of punches get through. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Blues tries for a takedown but Vargas sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Left hook, right uppercut from Vargas. Vargas lands a nice hook to Blues's body. Blues takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. A punch combination from Vargas misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vargas slips a jab and a cross from Blues.
Vargas tries to bum rush Blues with a series of wild strikes but Blues uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Jose Vargas is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Vargas doesn't manage to clinch there - Blues circles away.
Vargas clinches up with Blues and pushes him back against the cage. Vargas lands an elbow that stopped Blues in his tracks for a moment. Vargas wants to break the clinch but can't.
Blues has picked Vargas up - he's going for a ride! Blues dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Blues trying to advance position but Vargas counters by regaining guard. Blues postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Blues seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jake Blues has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Vargas feints a jab promting Blues to slip. Vargas then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Blues slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Blues looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vargas is fending him off so far but Blues persists. Nope, Vargas circles away and we're back to standing. Blues fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Blues. That's going to take a lot out of him. Vargas lands with a nice combination. Blues backs away looking to recover.
Blues is rocked!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blues bobbing and weaving nicely... He's ducked under a jab and ducks again but ooooooh! Vargas comes at him with an uppercut from hell! Blues falls to the canvas, unconscious! This one is all over! Oh man, looking at the replay that was right on the button! Blues was out before he hit the floor!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jose Vargas!
