Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between George Lonkar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clay Guida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clay Guida has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, George Lonkar !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Clay Guida!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Richard Clark and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Guida drives through with a takedown into guard.
Lonkar throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Guida trying to control the position from guard on top but Lonkar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Guida really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lonkar . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Guida passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
Guida wants to take a breather but Lonkar is having none of it.
Guida has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Lonkar works to full guard.

Lonkar scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Guida throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Guida misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Guida tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Lonkar looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Lonkar has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Guida wants to improve his position but Lonkar is controlling well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lonkar takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Lonkar winds up and cracks Guida with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Guida can do anything to dispel that myth.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Guida is trying to keep Lonkar in close.
Guida tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lonkar content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Lonkar postures up in Guida's guard and throws a big left but Guida blocks it.

Guida is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Guida is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lonkar connects with a nice short shot to Guida's temple.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Guida shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Guida is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Lonkar can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

That was a close second round but I would say that George Lonkar will probably get the nod.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lonkar , winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
