Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Leo Barros (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eugene Canedo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Canedo looks to clinch
and Barros counters with a slapping leg kick.
Canedo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Barros connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Canedo closes the distance looking to clinch
and Barros connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Eugene Canedo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Canedo is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

and Barros counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Canedo throws a right and a left that both miss.

Barros moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Barros has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Barros won't allow Canedo to get back to his feet.
Canedo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barros. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Barros slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Barros has an Americana. Canedo didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Barros is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Barros hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
