The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Couture throws a leg kick but Jenson sees it coming and moves out of range.

Andy Couture seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jenson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Couture swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Couture throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Couture.
A combination from Couture does no damage.
Couture lands a really nice looking cross but Jenson seems unphased.
Jenson dives in and grabs Couture's left leg, looking for a takedown. Couture pushes down on Jenson's head and hops out.

Couture throws a body punch but Jenson moves out of range.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Couture lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Jenson backs up against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Couture throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Couture scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Jenson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Couture.

Jenson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Couture as he avoids it easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Couture is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Jenson rather than just go for the knockout.
Jenson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Couture sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Couture fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Jenson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Jenson loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Couture scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Jenson land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Jenson stands and salutes the crowd.
