Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ben Askren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roman Galuszka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ben Askren!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Roman Galuszka!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Albert Achterberg and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Galuszka stuffs the takedown attempt from Askren. Askren gets slowly back to his feet.
Askren dives in and grabs Galuszka's left leg, looking for a takedown. Galuszka pushes down on Askren's head and hops out.

Askren manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Galuszka on his heels. He'll look to pass Galuszka's guard now, I'm sure.
Askren is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Askren wants to control from the top but Galuszka keeps moving.
Askren loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Askren pushes down on Galuszka's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Askren stops Galuszka from getting back to his feet.
Askren has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Galuszka really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Askren. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Galuszka can do anything to dispel that myth.

Askren might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Galuszka pushes Askren away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Askren gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Askren cracks Galuszka with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Askren throws a strike aimed at the side of Galuszka's head but Galuszka avoids it well.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Galuszka avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Askren.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ben Askren dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Askren tries for a takedown but Galuszka circles away easily

and Galuszka moves into the clinch.

Askren is trying to drag Galuszka to the mat but Galuszka just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.

Askren has Galuszka pressed up against the ropes. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Askren pulls back from the ropes and twists to the side, sending Galuszka tumbling to the mat - Askren dives into Galuszka's guard.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Galuszka is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Askren shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Galuszka sprawls well. Galuszka wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Askren gets slowly back to his feet.

Askren has Galuszka pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Galuszka manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Askren shoots in looking for a takedown but Galuszka manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Askren's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Galuszka tries to close the distance and clinch up but Askren swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Askren shoots in looking for a takedown. Galuszka tries to sprawl out of it but Askren keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Galuszka manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Askren looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Galuszka is fending him off so far but Askren persists. Nope, Galuszka circles away and we're back to standing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Galuszka counters with a big head kick but Askren shrugs it off.

And that's the end of the fight!
Roman Galuszka comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Askren has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
