Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Junior Dos Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stefan Roosmalen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stefan Roosmalen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Junior Dos Santos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Stefan Roosmalen!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paulsen Ambrosius and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Roosmalen feints and as Santos raises his hands in defense, Roosmalen changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Santos is trying to control the position from the bottom.

It looks like Roosmalen might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Santos controls Roosmalen momentarily but Roosmalen frees himself.
Roosmalen stands up over Santos, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Santos comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Roosmalen is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Santos to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Santos shrugs it off.

Roosmalen is pressing down on Santos's thigh, looking to free his foot. Santos is holding on for now.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Santos has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Roosmalen is working away from the top position though.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Roosmalen is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Santos's half guard.

Let's hope that Roosmalen has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Stefan Roosmalen hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Roosmalen is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Roosmalen is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Roosmalen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Santos has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Roosmalen has managed to get both his arms back between Santos's legs - danger averted.
