Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Ligtly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Chris Ligtly! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Tarja Halkonen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab lands there for Cruz. Cruz uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ligtly. Cruz slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Cruz with a body punch. A glancing blow. Sloppy strikes from Cruz. Those never looked like landing. Chris Ligtly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cruz circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cruz clinches up against the cage. Cruz has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. A right hand to the body from Cruz.
Ligtly has Cruz pressed against the cage, preventing Cruz from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Ligtly jumps guard but Cruz stands there with Ligtly around his waist. Ligtly gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Cruz displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ligtly. Ligtly tries to clinch but Cruz moves away and Cruz connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Cruz connects with a jab. The fighters circling - Ligtly throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Ligtly drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Ligtly is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Ligtly tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Cruz counters with a one-two to the body. Ligtly tries to clinch but Cruz moves out of range. Cruz waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Ligtly. Cruz dodges the punch combination from Ligtly.
Cruz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Ligtly tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Cruz manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. A jab lands there for Cruz.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cruz with a hook. Cruz closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Ligtly fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Antonio Cruz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A jab from Cruz finds it's way through Ligtly's defenses. Some wild striking there from Cruz.
Cruz closes the distance and lands a one-two. Ligtly darts in trying to clinch and Cruz counters with a straight right hand. Cruz is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Cruz tests Ligtly's chin there with a solid looking shot. Cruz dodges the punch combination from Ligtly.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A head kick misses from Ligtly. Ligtly looks gassed! Cruz lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Ligtly backs up against the cage.
Ligtly swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ligtly looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Cruz gets in close and instigates a clinch. Ligtly tries to pull guard but Cruz won't allow it.

Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Cruz walks away with a smile on his face. Ligtly gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Cruz tries to bum rush Ligtly with a series of wild strikes but Ligtly uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Ligtly closes the distance but Cruz moves to the side and Cruz counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Ligtly tries to keep at a distance but Cruz has taken the fight into the clinch. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cruz wants to break the clinch but can't.
Ligtly jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Cruz walks away with a smile on his face. Ligtly gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Ligtly fails miserably with a takedown attempt. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Cruz closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Ligtly fails to pull the fight into his guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Antonio Cruz dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Ligtly pulls guard effortlessly. Ligtly is looking for a triangle but Cruz pushes his legs off easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ligtly keeping moving, preventing Cruz from controlling successfully. Cruz has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Cruz has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ligtly is proving hard to escape from. Ligtly had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cruz defends it easily. This has been an exciting period of action! Ligtly pushes a forearm under Cruz's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Cruz is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
