Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Willie Beamen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Gonzales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gonzales has chosen Chiodos as his entrance music. Willie Beamen could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Kevin Gonzales's chin.

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzales uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Beamen.
Gonzales doesn't manage to clinch there - Beamen circles away.
The crowd cheers as Beamen lands an impressive looking overhand right. Gonzales doesn't seem phased though.
Beamen swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Gonzales closes the distance but Beamen moves to the side
enabling Beamen to counter with a crisp jab.

Beamen lands a left and a right that send Gonzales crashing to the mat, dazed. Beamen thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Kevin Gonzales has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Beamen feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Gonzales's calf.

Gonzales feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Gonzales drops back, looking for a kneebar! Beamen looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Beamen looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Beamen!

Beamen postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Beamen is looking to take a break and control but Gonzales is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Gonzales gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Gonzales tries to get to full guard but Beamen has control of the leg.

Beamen throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Beamen perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Beamen throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Beamen is pressing down on Gonzales's thigh, looking to free his foot. Gonzales is holding on for now.
Beamen is looking to take a break and control but Gonzales is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Beamen has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Gonzales works to full guard.
Beamen trying to control the position from guard on top but Gonzales is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gonzales tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Beamen has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Willie Beamen wasn't doing enough on the ground.
