Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Katsuro Sato!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Brazilian Assassin!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yuuki Gou and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Assassin misses with a body kick.
Assassin lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
A telegraphed right hand from Sato misses the target.
Assassin connects with an inside leg kick.
Assassin feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Sato's calf.
Assassin looking to land some kicks to the body here.
A head kick misses from Sato.
Sato swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Assassin walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Sato checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Sato feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Sato throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Assassin works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Sato has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Sato is looking to work some ground and pound but Assassin has wrist control.
Sato won't allow Assassin to get back to his feet.
Sato tries to free his leg and advance position but Assassin is retaining full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Assassin utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Sato wants to pass the guard but Assassin is keeping the position.
Sato postures up in Assassin's guard and throws a big left but Assassin blocks it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sato is standing up over Assassin. Assassin looks to escape but Sato dives into side control.
Assassin takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Sato misses with the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sato tries to score with some ground and pound. Assassin controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Sato creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Assassin takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sato in side control, throwing shots but Assassin defends.

Sato in side control lands a decent elbow.
Sato throws a strike aimed at the side of Assassin's head but Assassin avoids it well.
Sato postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sato misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Sato wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Assassin, who protects the arm well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sato looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Assassin on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Sato has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Assassin is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Sato yanks on the arm and Assassin is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Sato.
