The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Colin Fotheringham and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Atherton misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Eight blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Atherton misses with an elbow strike.
Eight wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Atherton has him pressed against the cage.
Eight misses with a hook to the ribs.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Atherton takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Atherton connects with a nasty looking knee right to Eight's face.

Eight is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Atherton is defending well for now.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Eight tries to roll over but Atherton keeps him under control.
Atherton looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Eight with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Atherton lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Atherton is nestled in close to Eight, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Atherton stops Eight from getting back to his feet.

Atherton lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Eight! More strikes land and this one is all over! Atherton jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
