Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marco Reyes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Wellman Junior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reyes's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, How You Like Me Now? by The Heavy. Wellman Junior comes into a darkened arena with his song building. speakers on blast- the game kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shane Wellman Junior!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Alyssa Summers and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wellman Junior moves out of range as Reyes throws a body kick.
A big right from Wellman Junior misses.
Reyes avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Reyes takes one to the side of the head.
Wellman Junior misses with a series of wild punches.
Wellman Junior connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Reyes doesn't manage to clinch there - Wellman Junior circles away.

Wellman Junior goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Reyes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wellman Junior paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Wellman Junior closes the distance and clinches up with Reyes, looking for a takedown. Wellman Junior pushes Reyes against the cage but Reyes circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Wellman Junior misses with a low kick.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Wellman Junior misses with a few strikes there.
The fighters circling - Wellman Junior throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Shane Wellman Junior seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Reyes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
No joy there for Wellman Junior, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Reyes avoids a punch combination nicely.
Reyes tries to close the distance and clinch but Wellman Junior swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Reyes tries a head kick but it misses.
Wellman Junior misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Wellman Junior throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Reyes counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Wellman Junior tries to break the clinch but Reyes is controlling the position.
Reyes blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Wellman Junior stops a takedown attempt from Reyes.
Wellman Junior prevents a takedown attempt there.

Wellman Junior's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Wellman Junior throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Reyes showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Wellman Junior.
Reyes pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Reyes tries a head kick but it misses.
Wellman Junior with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Reyes could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Wellman Junior fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Reyes looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shane Wellman Junior dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Reyes throws a lazy head kick
and Wellman Junior counters with a nice low kick that buckles Reyes's knee momentarily.

Wellman Junior gets caught napping as Reyes dives in and scores a takedown. Wellman Junior manages to retain guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Wellman Junior has his feet on Reyes's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Wellman Junior throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Reyes pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Wellman Junior throws a series of punches but Reyes avoids them all with ease.

Wellman Junior will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Wellman Junior shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Reyes but Reyes pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Wellman Junior connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Reyes momentarily.
Reyes slips a jab and a cross from Wellman Junior.

Wellman Junior is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Wellman Junior connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Reyes's hands.
Reyes keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Wellman Junior thows a body shot but no joy.
Wellman Junior fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Reyes manages to avoid it.

Shane Wellman Junior seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Wellman Junior ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Reyes moves away.
A head kick misses from Reyes.
Wellman Junior shoots in for a takedown but Reyes shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Wellman Junior looks to land a left hand but Reyes moved out of range nicely.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Reyes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Wellman Junior looks for a takedown but Reyes sprawls well.
Marco Reyes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shane Wellman Junior.
Reyes throws a sloppy head kick and Wellman Junior moves out of range easily.
Wellman Junior misses with the combination.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Shane Wellman Junior showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Wellman Junior lands a nice hook to Reyes's body. Reyes takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Wellman Junior throws a lazy right hand but Reyes sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Wellman Junior shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Reyes eats them both and turns towards Wellman Junior to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Wellman Junior lands with a nice combination. Reyes backs away looking to recover.
Wellman Junior fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Reyes checks it well.
Reyes throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wellman Junior's waist but Wellman Junior gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Reyes off to one side.
Reyes throws a head kick that Wellman Junior semi-blocks.
Wellman Junior misses the shot to the body.
Reyes tries to clinch up but Wellman Junior circles away and keeps his distance.
Marco Reyes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Reyes scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Wellman Junior is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Reyes pulls his head out easily.

Reyes working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Reyes working over Wellman Junior with some ground and pound. Wellman Junior looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Reyes winds up and cracks Wellman Junior with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wellman Junior pushes a forearm under Reyes's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Reyes is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Shane Wellman Junior!
A pretty intense looking Shane Wellman Junior took the opportunity post-fight to ask for a shot at the title.
