Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Remco van Noordstrum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shannon Bailey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shannon Bailey struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 171.5lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Joseph Jones and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
van Noordstrum tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bailey swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Remco van Noordstrum seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bailey rushes van Noordstrum and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Bailey fails to pull the fight into his guard.

It looks like Shannon Bailey has been cut.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bailey is looking to control van Noordstrum's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bailey avoid being mounted?
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
van Noordstrum is looking for a kimura but Bailey is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for van Noordstrum to get the leverage.
Bailey really doesn't want to stay on the ground with van Noordstrum. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Despite being in the dominant position, Shannon Bailey just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
van Noordstrum tries to clinch
and Bailey counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Bailey stays in close to van Noordstrum's body and controls the position.
Bailey stands up over van Noordstrum, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Bailey wants to pass the guard but van Noordstrum is keeping the position.

Bailey has control of van Noordstrum's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and van Noordstrum regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Bailey moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, van Noordstrum has worked his arm free - good work by van Noordstrum!

Bailey is looking to take a break and control but van Noordstrum is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Bailey throwing strikes but van Noordstrum manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Bailey might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control van Noordstrum kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Bailey is looking to escape but he's done so without protecting himself and van Noordstrum manages to counter with a nice rear naked choke! Bailey is in trouble and he's forced to tap!
