The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Angle bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Gold is trying to control Angle's posture but Angle avoids it.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gold can do anything to dispel that myth.
Gold tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Gold is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Gold gets back to half guard.
Angle looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Gold flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


A combination from Angle does no damage.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Gold enables Angle to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gold manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Gold has his foot on Angle's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Angle works his way back into a safe position though.

Gold wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Angle is now in half guard.
