The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mishenko throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Willis's waist but Willis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mishenko off to one side.
Mishenko shoots in but no luck this time.

Willis throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mishenko stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Willis fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Mishenko has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Mishenko sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Willis bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Mishenko is breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Willis.
Mishenko misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Mishenko shoots in and drives through. Willis sprawls well.
Mishenko on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Mishenko. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Willis's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Mishenko connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Willis scrambles back to his feet.

Rico Willis is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
