The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lane tries to land a front kick but Washington steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Washington wants to pass to mount but Lane is defending the position.
Washington is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Lane looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Lane drops back, looking for a kneebar! Washington looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Washington looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Washington!
Lane stops Washington from passing to mount.

Washington tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Washington thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Washington passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Lane!
Washington breaks from Lane's wrist control and lands an elbow.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Washington lands a big shot there that rocks Lane but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Lane is in all sorts of trouble here.
Lane is working hard here to advance position.
Lane is in a horrible position here. Washington smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Washington wants to control the pace but Lane is squirming around nicely.

Washington wants to finish this one by submission but Lane is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Washington.

Washington swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
