The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body punch from Freeman.
Freeman scores with a jab to the body.
Freeman throws a right hand that Takakasi ducks under and follows up with a left that Takakasi also avoids with ease.
Freeman throws a head kick that misses.
Takakasi thows a body shot but no joy.
Freeman moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Takakasi has a takedown stuffed.

Freeman moves into the clinch successfully.
Takakasi can't find room to land a body shot as Freeman controls the action.
Freeman takes a knee right on the jaw!
Freeman tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Freeman is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Takakasi pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Takakasi breaks from the clinch.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Freeman scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Takakasi doesn't seem bothered though.

Freeman shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Freeman cracks Takakasi with a good jab.

Takakasi rushes Freeman and presses him up against the cage.

Freeman breaks the clinch.
Takakasi blocks a head kick by Freeman.
Freeman looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Takakasi fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Freeman clinches up against the cage.
Freeman tries to pull guard but Takakasi holds him up against the cage and eventually Freeman drops back down to his feet.

Freeman goes for a takedown in the clinch but Takakasi prevents it.
Freeman has had enough of the clinch but Takakasi keeps him there for the moment.
Takakasi has Freeman pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Freeman manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

and Takakasi counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Freeman's guard now.
Takakasi is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Freeman pushes Takakasi off and scrambles back to his feet.
Takakasi misses with the combination.

Freeman scores with a takedown into Takakasi's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Freeman postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Freeman throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Takakasi works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Freeman wants to pass the guard but Takakasi is keeping the position.
Takakasi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Freeman drops back looking for a leg! Takakasi is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Takakasi manages to kick Freeman off! Freeman jumps back into Takakasi's guard.

Takakasi has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Freeman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Takakasi throws a head kick but Freeman moves out of range.
Takakasi is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Freeman.

Takakasi scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Freeman is pressing down on Takakasi's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Takakasi makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Takakasi is looking to stand up but Freeman won't let him.

Freeman lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Takakasi!

Takakasi wants to hold on but Freeman pushes him away.

Freeman goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Takakasi is on top in guard.

Freeman looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Takakasi passes Freeman's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Freeman looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Freeman wants to control the action here but instead Takakasi manages to pass to full mount!
Freeman wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Huey Freeman dominated that round.
That's time! Freeman's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Freeman rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Takakasi holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Takakasi has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Freeman is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Freeman gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Freeman prevents Takakasi from standing back up.
Freeman uses his free foot to push down on Takakasi's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Takakasi.
Freeman takes Takakasi's back.
Takakasi is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Takakasi is trying to defend against the choke here but Freeman has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Freeman Tightens the hold and Takakasi taps out furiously! Freeman displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
