PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bubba Gump (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Plantz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gump's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Fucking Hostile - Pantera. The crowd seem to be enjoying Plantz's choice of entrance music: Freedom. James Plantz told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gump bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Plantz wants to control but Gump postures up.
Gump creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Plantz sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Plantz has eaten all the pies!
Plantz is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Plantz is not content to let Gump control the position.

Gump knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Plantz on the ground.
Plantz on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

It looks like James Plantz has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Plantz is trying to stand back up but Gump is controlling him
Gump takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Gump throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Gump lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

The cut above James Plantz's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Bubba Gump was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
