Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gerald Hodges (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Toshihiro Kai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kai scores with a hook to the body. Hodges takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Hodges swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Kai lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Hodges at a distance.
Kai throws a body punch but Hodges moves out of range.
Hodges uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kai.
Hodges feints and then cracks Kai's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kai down.
Hodges checks a leg kick nicely.
Kai throws a jab but it's blocked by Hodges.
A slow jab from Kai misses its intended target.
Hodges uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kai.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kai. Hodges does a little dance to reset his feet.

and Hodges counters with a good, hard body kick but Kai shrugs it off.

That kick from Kai tenderised Hodges's leg. Hodges is trying to keep his angry face on.
Kai throws a hook to the side of Hodges's head but Hodges sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

A bone on bone clash there as Kai blocks the leg kick.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Hodges.

Hodges tries to land a front kick but Kai steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

and Hodges makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Toshihiro Kai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fighters circle momentarily. Hodges darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Kai tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hodges swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Kai misses with a wild body shot.
Kai throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kai tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Hodges manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Hodges uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kai.
Kai is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Kai throws a looping overhand right but Hodges ducks down to avoid it.

Kai checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

and Hodges makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kai paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Kai finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Hodges needs to keep his hands up - Kai had a free shot at his head there.
Hodges tries to work over Kai's front leg with a kick but Kai checks it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kai throws a body punch but Hodges moves out of range.
Kai takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Hodges throws a leg kick which misses Kai's front leg but catches the back leg as Kai tries to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hodges feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Kai's calf.
Kai misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hodges.
Kai tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hodges paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Kai fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kai changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Hodges scores with a sloppy right hand. Kai should have avoided that one.
Kai gets a clinch.
Hodges tries to circle away but Kai has him pinned against the cage.
Hodges is trying to push Kai away but Kai has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Kai misses with a hook from the clinch.
Hodges blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Kai lands a hook to the side of the head.
Hodges wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Kai throws a punch but it's blocked by Hodges.

Hodges blocks an uppercut.
Kai swings wildly with an uppercut but Hodges uses good head movement to avoid it.
Kai tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Hodges's elbow.
A frustrated look appears on Hodges's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Kai throws a head punch that misses.
Kai doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Kai's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Kai throws a punch but it's blocked by Hodges.

Kai swings wildly with an uppercut but Hodges uses good head movement to avoid it.

Hodges tries to break the clinch but Kai is controlling the position.

Kai grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Hodges takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Kai cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
