Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Randall Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bam Bigelow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Randall Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bam Bigelow!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Bigelow on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Jones tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Bigelow smiles and moves away.
Bigelow fails in his attempt to clinch.
Jones closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bigelow circles away.
A head kick misses from Jones.
Bigelow scores with a one two! Jones had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.


It looks like Randall Jones has been cut.
Bigelow shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Jones counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bigelow trying to control here.
Jones could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Jones is controlling the pace.
Jones seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Bigelow for as long as he can get away with.

Jones is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Bigelow sees it coming and defends easily.

Bigelow is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jones in particular looking to stall.
Jones trying to mount his opponent but Bigelow defends it.
Bigelow tries to kick Jones off but Jones keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones is looking to stall here but Bigelow recovers full guard.
Bigelow not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Jones throws a big right hand that misses.

Jones stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Jones leaves Bigelow with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Jones shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bigelow's guard.

Jones controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Jones might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Randall Jones wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Jones looks for a takedown but Bigelow sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Randall Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bigelow shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side.

Jones changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bigelow looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jones decides to stand up, so the ref orders Bigelow to his feet.

Jones throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Bigelow tries to sprawl but Jones drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Jones is pressing down on Bigelow's thigh, looking to free his foot. Bigelow is holding on for now.
Jones seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Jones is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Bigelow!

Jones is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Bigelow to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Bigelow shrugs it off.

Bigelow wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Jones just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Jones looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Bigelow trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Jones manages to pass to mount!

Bigelow is breathing heavily.
Jones pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Jones throws a sloppy head kick and Bigelow moves out of range easily.
Jones fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Jones stuffs the takedown attempt from Bigelow. Bigelow gets slowly back to his feet.

Bigelow is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jones sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Bigelow instigates a clinch.
Bigelow jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jones walks away with a smile on his face. Bigelow gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Randall Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bam Bigelow.
Bigelow shoots in for a takedown but Jones shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Bigelow takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Jones checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Jones moves into the clinch.
Bigelow looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Bigelow is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Jones pulls him back up using the underhooks.
A frustrated look appears on Bigelow's face as he tries to break the clinch.
A bit of stalling here from Jones.

Jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bigelow tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Jones manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Horrible takedown by Bigelow or perhaps it was just good defense by Jones which made him look bad.

Jones scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Jones decides to stand back up. Jones steps back and let's Bigelow get back to his feet.

Jones bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bigelow is not content to let Jones control the position.
Jones works to advance to full mount. Bigelow defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Jones is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Bigelow is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Jones's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
