Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Robbie Peterson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johnny Nelson! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peterson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Nelson was covering up waiting for the punch and Peterson finishes the takedown easily into guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Peterson wants to pass the guard but Nelson is keeping the position. Nelson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Peterson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Peterson pushes down on Nelson's leg and manages to get into half guard. Nelson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Peterson pulls his head out easily. Peterson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Nelson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Peterson is keen to just control but Nelson is a slippery customer. Peterson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Nelson is looking to escape. Nelson working to try and regain half guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Peterson with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Peterson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Nelson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Nelson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Peterson is working for a guillotine from mount but Nelson frees his head quite easily.
Nelson is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Peterson locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Nelson is forced to tap!
