Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ippo Makunouchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergei Korobkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Korobkov comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Hush - Fired Up kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Ippo Makunouchi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sergei Korobkov! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Anthony Taglia and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Makunouchi throws a combination that misses and Korobkov counters with a single leg into guard. Makunouchi didn't expect that. Korobkov is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Korobkov trying to stand up but can't free himself from Makunouchi's guard. Makunouchi is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Korobkov wants to control from the top but Makunouchi keeps moving. Makunouchi trying to control the position here. Korobkov controlling from the top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Korobkov trying to control but Makunouchi is working from the bottom.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Sergei Korobkov wasn't active enough on the ground. Makunouchi lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Makunouchi. Makunouchi throws a sloppy head kick and Korobkov counters with a nice double leg into guard. Korobkov trying to control but Makunouchi is working from the bottom. Makunouchi is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Korobkov trying to control the position from guard on top but Makunouchi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Korobkov stands up from guard. Let's bang! Makunouchi loads up on a big right hand but Korobkov slips the punch. Makunouchi falls off balance throwing a combination
and Korobkov counters with a nice double leg into side control. Makunouchi won't be happy with that. Korobkov wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Makunouchi, who protects the arm well. Makunouchi stuck in half guard on the bottom here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Korobkov is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Makunouchi knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Korobkov is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Makunouchi is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Korobkov is trying to get an arm triangle but Makunouchi is defending well. Korobkov tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Korobkov has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Makunouchi is trying to control Korobkov's posture but Korobkov avoids it. Korobkov working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Korobkov tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sergei Korobkov dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Makunouchi thows a body shot but no joy. Korobkov dives in and grabs Makunouchi's left leg, looking for a takedown. Makunouchi pushes down on Korobkov's head and hops out. Makunouchi misses with a series of wild punches.

and Korobkov counters with a shoot takedown. Makunouchi fights it but they end up in guard. Makunouchi wants to stand up but Korobkov is controlling him. Korobkov postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Makunouchi is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Korobkov, into his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Makunouchi throws and elbow that misses. Korobkov uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Makunouchi's guard. Nice move by Korobkov! Korobkov trying to control the position from guard on top but Makunouchi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Makunouchi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Korobkov on the ground. Korobkov gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Makunouchi throws a shot from downtown. Korobkov moves away and avoids it. The crowd cheers as Korobkov lands an impressive looking overhand right. Makunouchi doesn't seem phased though. Makunouchi throws a lazy uppercut
and Korobkov decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Makunouchi's guard. Makunouchi manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Korobkov manages to get himself to full guard.
Makunouchi working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Korobkov's head. This has been an exciting period of action! Makunouchiis looking to pass into half guard but Korobkov pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Korobkov is in guard. Korobkov postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Korobkov is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Makunouchi on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Makunouchi tries to get out of the position. Korobkov trying to control but Makunouchi is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Makunouchi controls Korobkov momentarily but Korobkov frees himself. Korobkov slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Korobkov is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Makunouchi is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Makunouchi has escaped and now he's on top!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Korobkov is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Makunouchi defends well. Makunouchi landing some decent shots from guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Makunouchi throwing strikes but missing. Makunouchi throws a strike but Korobkov rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Makunouchi lands with an uppercut that bounces Korobkov off the cage and back into range. Korobkov stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Makunouchi lands a nice hook to Korobkov's body. Korobkov takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Makunouchi fails to land with a series of punches.

and Korobkov counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Korobkov is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Korobkov stands up from Makunouchi's guard - Korobkov perhaps looking for a knockout. Makunouchi misses with a double jab.
Makunouchi throws a series of punches but Korobkov moves out of range. Makunouchi thows a leg kick but Korobkov checks it and Korobkov counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Korobkov thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Makunouchi keeping moving, preventing Korobkov from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Korobkov sitting in guard here, content to control. Korobkov pushing down on Makunouchi's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Korobkov wants to advance to full mount but Makunouchi doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Makunouchi wants to get back to his feet but Korobkov is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Sergei Korobkov has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Korobkov loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Korobkov is looking to work some ground and pound but Makunouchi has wrist control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Makunouchi wants to sweep but no luck. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Korobkov wants to control from the top but Makunouchi keeps moving. Korobkov stops Makunouchi from standing up. Korobkov gets to his feet - Makunouchi follows without any prompting. Ippo Makunouchi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Makunouchi misses with a few strikes there.
No luck for Korobkov with that takedown attempt. Sergei Korobkov is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Makunouchi throws a combination that misses and Korobkov counters with a nice double leg into side control. Makunouchi won't be happy with that.
And that's the end of the fight! Sergei Korobkov comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Korobkov winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
