The bell rings for round one and we are underway! East connects with a solid leg kick. East displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Roosevelt throws out the jab. Roosevelt lands with a straight right. East didn't see that one coming.
It looks like Nick East has been cut. Roosevelt cracks East with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Roosevelt missing with a left hand there. East was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. A nice leg kick lands there from East. Roosevelt moves out of range of the strikes. East lands with a good body shot. East displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Roosevelt throws out the jab. Roosevelt misses with a series of wild punches.
Roosevelt changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! East lands a nice shot to the body.
East misses with a straight right. East throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Roosevelt lands a jab to the head.

and East counters with a body kick. East misses the shot to the body. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! East slips a jab from Roosevelt. East ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Roosevelt moves away. A big right from Roosevelt misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Roosevelt throws a series of punches but East avoids them all with ease. Roosevelt takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. East is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Roosevelt rather than just go for the knockout. East pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Roosevelt keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
East thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Roosevelt if he has to take too many more of those.

East goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Roosevelt blocks the body kick.

Roosevelt needs to keep his hands up - East had a free shot at his head there. Roosevelt throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Roosevelt takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Roosevelt's corner calls for a 1-2. Roosevelt obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. East dodges the punch combination from Roosevelt.
Roosevelt is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Roosevelt avoids a kick to the body.
East fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Roosevelt has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. East's jab looks to have found its range, popping Roosevelt under the eye. Roosevelt misses with a jab, cross combination.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Nice uppercut lands for Roosevelt. That snapped East's head back.
East uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Roosevelt. Roosevelt fakes high and swings low for a body shot but East manages to avoid it. East throws a body punch but Roosevelt moves out of range. East looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Roosevelt works East's body with a nice hook. A telegraphed right hand from Roosevelt misses the target. East throws a push kick but Roosevelt slaps the foot to one side. East has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from East there as he acknowledges the shot. Roosevelt ducks under a wild hook from East. East looks gassed! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Roosevelt swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
East scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Nice straight punches there by East. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of East. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Teddy Roosevelt dominated that round. The cut man is working on Nick East's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
East ducks under a wild hook from Roosevelt. Roosevelt tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Roosevelt is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. East looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. East closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Roosevelt did well to prevent East getting side control. Still in half guard, East seems content to control. Roosevelt is trying to maintain the position but East is very close to passing his half guard. East controlling the action here. East is just content to waste time from the top position. Roosevelt takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. East stopping the sweep attempt from Roosevelt. Roosevelt trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Roosevelt keeping full guard, as East tries to pass. Roosevelt controls East momentarily but East frees himself.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. East scores with a nice right hand.
Roosevelt is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by East. East thuds his shin into the meat of Roosevelt's side. East throws a right and a left that Roosevelt avoids nicely. East is looking to land body kicks. East lands a nice leg kick that just misses Roosevelt's sensitive parts. East uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Roosevelt. East misses the shot to the body. Roosevelt throws out a loose jab but East uses good head movement to avoid it. Roosevelt scores with a shot to the body.
East takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Roosevelt on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
That's three minutes gone in the round. East fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Roosevelt on the side of the head. Teddy Roosevelt is winning the standup battle so far. A swing and a miss from Roosevelt. Roosevelt misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from East.

Roosevelt throws an overhand right that lands on East's shoulder, as East tries to avoid the shot. Roosevelt swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by East. Roosevelt stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from East.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Roosevelt lands a jab to the nose.
East is rocked! Roosevelt feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending East crashing to the mat! This one is all over!
