The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Volkan finds it's way through Chalidow's defenses.
Chalidow looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Volkan throws a lazy uppercut

and Chalidow counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Volkan is wriggling around but Chalidow manages to pass to half guard.

Chalidow decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Chalidow closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Volkan smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Volkan throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Chalidow uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Volkan.
Chalidow on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Volkan throws a looping overhand right but Chalidow ducks down to avoid it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Chalidow ducks under a wild hook from Volkan.
Volkan fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Volkan misses with a straight right.
Chalidow blocks a jab.
Chalidow has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Volkan finds it's way round the side to connect with Chalidow's head.
Volkan tests Chalidow's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Volkan misses with an uppercut. Chalidow saw that one coming.
Chalidow bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Volkan misses with a hook.
Volkan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Aaron Volkan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Volkan lands a glancing blow to the side of Chalidow's head.
Chalidow moves out of range of the strikes.

Volkan is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Chalidow throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Volkan has his hands clasped together but Chalidow breaks the hold and Volkan is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Chalidow!

Mamed Chalidow decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
