Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Philip Phillips (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Lunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Philip Phillips!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Billy Lunn!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Phillips drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Phillips drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Phillips jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Phillips passes Lunn's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Phillips is trying to work for a kimura but Lunn is defending well.

Phillips is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Lunn is trying to stand.

Phillips is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Lunn has managed to free his arm - good work.
Phillips is looking to advance position but Lunn won't allow it.

Lunn is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Phillips pulls his head out easily.

Lunn looking for submissions off his back.
Phillips has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lunn is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Phillips moves to back control.
Lunn rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Phillips seems to be looking for submissions.

Phillips is looking for a kimura here.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lunn is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Phillips pulls his head out easily.

Phillips is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Lunn misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Lunn tries to roll over but Phillips keeps him under control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Phillips is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lunn sees it coming and defends easily.
Lunn wants to get back to full guard but Phillips has passed into side control.
Lunn is looking to regain half guard here but Phillips keeps moving and retains side control.
Lunn struggling a bit here.

Phillips tries for a kimura but Lunn is defending well.

Phillips working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Phillips is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Lunn has escaped the position, nice work there.
Lunn is looking for a sweep.

Phillips is trying to get an arm triangle but Lunn is defending well.

Phillips tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Phillips has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Phillips trying to control the action but Lunn is working from the bottom.
Lunn is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
The ground and pound from Phillips seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Lunn is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Phillips is controlling him well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lunn can't do much from the bottom here.

Phillips tries for a kimura but Lunn is defending well.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Lunn is looking for a sweep.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Philip Phillips dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Phillips swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Philip Phillips seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jab, jab by Lunn - just one landing.
Phillips throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lunn is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Phillips.


It looks like Billy Lunn has been cut.
Lunn misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lunn keeps Phillips at a distance using the push kick.
Lunn fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Lunn on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Phillips. Phillips obviously looking to wear him down.

A jab-cross combination lands for Phillips and sends Lunn crashing to the mat! Phillips follows him down to the mat - Lunn regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!


Lunn is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Phillips lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Lunn quite badly. Lunn pulls Phillips in close trying to recover. Phillips postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Lunn on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Lunn doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Philip Phillips!
