Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stefan Roosmalen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Jordan! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Columbo Gatti and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jordan scores with a head kick.
No luck for Roosmalen with that takedown attempt. Roosmalen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jordan but Jordan pushes him off and we're back to square one. Jordan jabs at Roosmalen's body. The fighters circle momentarily. Jordan darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Roosmalen swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Jordan digs a good body shot into Roosmalen's ribs. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A head kick misses from Roosmalen. Jordan lands a leg kick that knocks Roosmalen off balance momentarily. Stefan Roosmalen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Roosmalen fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stefan Roosmalen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. A decent looking cross lands there for Jordan. Jordan jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Jordan fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Roosmalen has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Roosmalen throws a lazy body kick and Jordan counters with a straight right hand. Michael Jordan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Roosmalen blocks a head kick by Jordan.
Jordan connects with a good right hand that stumbles Roosmalen. Roosmalen circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Roosmalen misses with a leg kick and Jordan counters with an inside leg kick. This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Roosmalen. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Roosmalen dives in and grabs Jordan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jordan pushes down on Roosmalen's head and hops out. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jordan tries to bum rush Roosmalen with a series of wild strikes but Roosmalen uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Roosmalen swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Jordan scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Jordan connects with a high kick. Jordan throws out a powerful jab. Jordan slips a straight right by Roosmalen. Roosmalen rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Jordan counters with a stiff right hand. Jordan works Roosmalen's body with a nice hook. Jab, jab by Jordan - just one landing. A low kick from Roosmalen is predictable there and Roosmalen takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jordan lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Roosmalen is rocked! Jordan defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Roosmalen. Oh Roosmalen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Roosmalen throws a right hand that misses
and Jordan counters with a massive hook, right on the button! He's out cold! Damn, that was naaaaaasty! Hopefully he'll be OK.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Michael Jordan! Michael Jordan decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
