PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Oleg Alekseev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kradimir Cacic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alekseev comes to the cage accompanied by Imperium. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alekseev shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cacic as he avoids it easily.
Cacic shoots in but Alekseev avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Cacic tries a head kick but it misses.
Alekseev shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cacic pinned against the cage. Cacic gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Cacic closes the distance and clinches.
Alekseev is looking for a takedown.
Alekseev has Cacic pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Cacic manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cacic can do anything to dispel that myth.

Alekseev tries to buck Cacic off but Cacic is having none of it.
Cacic remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Alekseev manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Cacic perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Kradimir Cacic has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Alekseev tries to close the distance and clinch but Cacic swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Alekseev fails with a takedown attempt.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cacic shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Alekseev but Alekseev pushes him off and we're back to square one.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Cacic has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Alekseev uses from the top position.

Cacic lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Alekseev!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Alekseev is looking to improve his position but Cacic isn't that keen on the idea.

A close second round but Kradimir Cacic will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Cacic is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

It looks like Oleg Alekseev has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Alekseev shoots in for a double leg but Cacic sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Kradimir Cacic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Alekseev avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Connects with an elbow from the bottom, proving to the judges that he's still active off his back.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Alekseev is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Kradimir Cacic is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cacic is on top in guard.

Well Cacic has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
