Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jon Voda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Connor is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: ac/dc- war machine. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Voda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Scott Connor!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Dean Styles and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Connor prevents a body shot from Voda.
Still in the clinch, Voda scores with a nice short uppercut.

Connor breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Connor throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Voda.

Voda has taken the fight to the clinch.
Connor holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Connor goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
A short body shot lands from Connor as the two fighters clinch.

Connor breaks from the clinch.
Voda misses with a hook to the body
and Connor counters with an inside leg kick.
Voda takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Connor moves into range and connects with a jab.
Connor fails with a takedown attempt.
A head kick from Connor lands but Voda takes it in his stride.

It looks like Scott Connor has been cut.
Connor is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Voda moves into the clinch.
A right hook to the body lands for Voda.
Connor throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Connor blocks a body shot from Voda.
Connor is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Connor breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Voda darts in and clinches Connor up against the cage.
Voda misses with a body punch.

Voda tries to work over Connor's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Voda misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Connor blocks an uppercut.
Connor has a couple of punches blocked by Voda.
Voda can't find room to land a body shot as Connor controls the action.
Voda misses with a short punch on the inside.
Connor blocking some punches.

Connor breaks the clinch.

Connor shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Connor was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Connor swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Voda is now in Connor's guard. A big mistake from Connor there, giving up the dominant position!
Voda knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Connor on the ground.

Connor escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Voda gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Connor is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Voda is controlling him.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Connor can do anything to dispel that myth.
Connor thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Connor wants to stand and escape but Voda is having none of it.
Voda throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Connor is pulling down on Voda's head. It's preventing any offense from Voda, at least for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Connor closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Connor lands in his opponent's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Scott Connor dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Scott Connor's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Voda throws a hook to the side of Connor's head but Connor sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Connor has managed to clinch.
Voda doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Connor lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Voda tries a body shot but Connor blocks it.
Voda struggles to land a body shot inside as Connor controls his hands.
Connor blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Connor throws an elbow but it misses.
Connor misses with the head strike.

Connor manages to break the clinch.
Voda throws a jab when Connor was well out of range.
Voda swats away the attempt to clinch by Connor.
Some wild striking there from Connor.
Connor fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Nice shot lands for Connor.
Jon Voda is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Connor lands a high kick!
Connor uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Voda.

Voda drops Connor with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Connor looks back up at him and smiles so Voda waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Voda defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Connor.
Connor fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Voda looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Connor misses with a two punch combination.
Voda misses with the combination.
Voda's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Connor connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Voda scrambles back to his feet.
Connor lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Voda at a distance.
Voda walks into a left hand.

Voda rushes Connor and presses him up against the cage.
Voda throws a punch but it's blocked by Connor.
Connor has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Voda lands a nice uppercut.
Voda lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Connor or not.
Connor blocking some punches.
Voda lands a shoulder strike.
Voda misses with a punch on the inside.
Connor pressing his opponent against the cage.
Voda misses with a hook from the clinch.
Connor lands a nice shot to the body.
Connor content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Connor swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A frustrated look appears on Connor's face as he tries to break the clinch.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jon Voda will probably get the nod.

Connor throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Voda's head.
Connor moves in looking to clinch but Voda pushes him off.
Connor has a takedown stuffed.

Connor misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Voda misses with a left hand
and Connor counters with a nice uppercut.
Scott Connor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Connor throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Connor seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Voda does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Connor thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Voda's head.
Voda avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Connor.

Connor is looking for a kimura but Voda is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Connor to get the leverage.
