Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Richard Meyer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gregory Helms!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Eliza Hachem and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Helms throws a sloppy head kick and Meyer moves out of range easily.
Meyer shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Helms counters with a takedown into side control.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Meyer tries to bench press Helms off him but Helms keeps the position.
Meyer manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Meyer moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Meyer has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Helms should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Meyer has tightened it up now! Helms should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
