Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Christoph Stenner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stig Helmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stenner's entrance music is Escapado - Freiraum. A fine choice. The key to victory for Christoph Stenner has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Christoph Stenner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stig Helmer! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Bruno Lombardi and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stenner has taken the fight to the clinch.
Helmer pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Helmer manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Stenner on his heels. He'll look to pass Stenner's guard now, I'm sure. Stenner keeping moving, preventing Helmer from controlling successfully. Helmer is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stenner wants to stand but Helmer is controlling the position. Helmer postures up in Stenner's guard and throws a big left but Stenner blocks it. Helmer throws a big right hand that misses. Helmer is looking to work some ground and pound but Stenner has wrist control. Helmer trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Helmer not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Helmer wants to control from the top but Stenner keeps moving. Stenner on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Stenner tries to get out of the position. Helmer throwing strikes from guard but Stenner blocks nicely. Stenner wants to stand up but Helmer is controlling him. Helmer is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Stenner is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Helmer throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Stenner works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Helmer lands a couple of elbows.

Stenner knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Helmer on the ground. The fighters roll with the hold and Stenner manages to kick Helmer off! Helmer jumps back into Stenner's guard. Helmer loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Helmer landing with the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Helmer throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Stenner works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Helmer with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Helmer controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Helmer has gone for a leg lock! Stenner slips out almost immediately though and dives into Helmer's guard. Helmer had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Stenner defends it easily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Helmer preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Stig Helmer dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Helmer keeps the fight on the outside. Stenner moves in looking to clinch but Helmer pushes him off. Stenner displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Helmer. Helmer scores with a takedown into Stenner's guard. Helmer throwing strikes from guard but Stenner blocks nicely. Helmer with a nice head shot there. Helmer scoring with punches to the head and body. Helmer postures up in Stenner's guard and throws a big left but Stenner blocks it. Stenner wants to get back to his feet but Helmer is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Stig Helmer has got the better of the ground game so far. Helmer has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Helmer throws an elbow that misses. Stenner uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Helmer's guard. Nice move by Stenner! Stenner has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Stenner throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stenner works his way back into a safe position though.
