Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Merlin Phoenix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Platero Scrappypants (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Phoenix comes to the cage accompanied by Simon Says. The key to victory for Merlin Phoenix has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Merlin Phoenix!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Platero Scrappypants!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Summer Carpenter and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Left hook, right uppercut from Phoenix.

Phoenix rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Scrappypants moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

It looks like Merlin Phoenix has been cut.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Phoenix, right into the meat.
Phoenix looks to land a combination but Scrappypants avoids it well.

Phoenix throws a right hand that Scrappypants ducks under and follows up with a left that Scrappypants also avoids with ease.

Scrappypants feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That was a close round but I would say that Merlin Phoenix will probably get the nod.
