The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wheeliams dives in and grabs Brown's left leg, looking for a takedown. Brown pushes down on Wheeliams's head and hops out.
Wheeliams is trying hard to land a takedown here. Brown sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Brown lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Brown leaves Wheeliams with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Brown throws a right hand that Wheeliams ducks under and follows up with a left that Wheeliams also avoids with ease.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wheeliams changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brown tries to avoid it but Wheeliams manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brown to the ground. Brown escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Wheeliams shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Wheeliams showed some decent athleticism there.
Brown really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wheeliams. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
