Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jack Offerson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andre Slater (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Offerson comes to the cage accompanied by Can't F with da South. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Offerson!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andre Slater!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Joseph Jones and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slater shoots in for a takedown but Offerson shows good takedown defense.
Offerson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Slater counters with a single leg into guard. Offerson didn't expect that.
Slater stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Offerson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Slater working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Slater thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Slater wants to pass the guard but Offerson is keeping the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Slater is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Offerson.
Offerson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Slater sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Offerson somewhat.

Slater misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Slater goes for an armbar but Offerson turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Offerson.

Slater lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Offerson!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Offerson is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Andre Slater showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Let's hope that Slater has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
