Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marcel Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Martin might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to RAWR. Mark Thomas has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Marcel Martin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Thomas! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Steven Brown and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Martin pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Martin throws a head kick but Thomas moves out of range.
Martin fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Thomas checks it well. Martin throws a body kick the misses and Thomas counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Martin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Thomas takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Thomas misses with a takedown and Thomas takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Martin throws a leg kick that is checked enabling Thomas to counter with a crisp jab. Thomas misses with a takedown attempt - Martin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Thomas shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Martin as he jumps to the side. Marcel Martin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Thomas. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Thomas shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's one minute gone in the round. No joy there for Thomas, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Thomas shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Martin as he avoids it easily. Martin looks to land a combination but Thomas avoids it well. Martin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Thomas looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Martin in side control lands a decent elbow. Martin is working Thomas over with some ground and pound from side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Thomas takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Martin in side control lands a decent elbow. Martin is chipping away with strikes.
Thomas is rocked! Martin working the ground and pound from side control. Thomas is still in real trouble! Can Martin finish him?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Martin in side control, just content to control the action for now. Martin decides to stand back up. Martin lands a big head kick that sends Thomas to the canvas! Martin follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Marcel Martin! Marcel Martin gave a mention to Firebird Designs in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
