And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones clinches with his opponent.

Harvey really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jones connects with a nice short shot to Harvey's temple.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

and Jones counters with a crisp one two that drops Harvey! Jones thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Harvey to his feet! Harvey is in big trouble!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Harvey can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Rashad Jones.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Harvey clinches up with Jones and pushes him back against the cage.

Jones throws out a leg kick but Harvey moves out of range and Jones only half commits.

Jones gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Harvey regains guard.
Harvey wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Jones manages to pass to side control.
Jones wants to advance to full mount but Harvey doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Harvey is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jones slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Jones gets to his feet. Harvey looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Harvey avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Harvey keeps the fight on the outside.

Jones closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Harvey quickly recovers to half guard.
Harvey wants to control but Jones is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Harvey ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jones moves away.
Harvey rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jones moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Harvey misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jones.
Harvey fails with the takedown.
Jones swats away the attempt to clinch by Harvey.
No luck for Jones with that takedown attempt.

Jones closes the distance and pushes Harvey back into the cage.

Jones decides to pull guard.

Jones is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Jones controls Harvey momentarily but Harvey frees himself.
Jones pulls Harvey in close to his closed guard and prevents Harvey from doing any damage or advancing position.
Rashad Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Jones pushes Harvey off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well Jones has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
