PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Losefa Tuilagi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wrex Ler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tuilagi comes to the cage accompanied by Siva Tau. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Losefa Tuilagi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Wrex Ler!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Wagner Zegers and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tuilagi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Tuilagi wants it to stay on the feet.

Ler is trying to drag Tuilagi to the mat but Tuilagi just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Ler closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Ler has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Wrex Ler showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Tuilagi wants to control but Ler is having none of it.

Ler postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Tuilagi looks a forlorn figure.

Ler jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Tuilagi manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Tuilagi takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Ler cracks Tuilagi with a big right hand but Tuilagi just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Ler misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Wrex Ler is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Tuilagi is being controlled here.
Let's hope that Ler has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Tuilagi wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Wrex Ler was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Ler will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Tuilagi leaves Ler with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Wrex Ler comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Ler winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
