Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Les Paul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Giwa Sovan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sovan has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Giwa Sovan looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Les Paul!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Giwa Sovan!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sovan misses with a takedown attempt
and Paul counters with a thumping low kick.
Sovan shoots and misses
and Paul makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Sovan looks gassed!
Paul ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Paul misses with a series of wild punches.
Paul lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Paul throws a shot to the body.
Paul throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sovan fails with the takedown
and Paul counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Les Paul has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Giwa Sovan.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Paul wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sovan keeps working.
Sovan is in trouble now - Paul has advanced to mount!
Paul working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Sovan turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Paul off and cradles Sovan's limp body as Paul celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Les Paul!
