The bell rings for round one and we are underway! PierrSt fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Petz checks it well. PierrSt throws a sloppy head kick and Petz moves out of range easily. PierrSt moves into the clinch. PierrSt decides to pull guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Petz working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. PierrSt throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Petz trying to control the position from guard on top but PierrSt is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. PierrSt trying to control the position.
PierrSt is adopting a defensive guard. PierrSt looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Petz won't allow PierrSt to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. PierrSt not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref stands the fighters back up. George PierrSt was stalling too much, according to the referee. PierrSt moves into the clinch. Petz wants to take the fight to the mat but PierrSt manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. PierrSt breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Petz throws a hook but PierrSt avoids it easily. PierrSt defending well as Petz loads up on a big left hand. PierrSt gets caught flat footed, as Petz shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Petz missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Petz postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Petz missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if PierrSt can do anything to dispel that myth. PierrSt keeping moving, preventing Petz from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. PierrSt lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Petz! PierrSt controlling the pace for now. Petz slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! PierrSt is looking to take a break and control but Petz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Petz manages to get to full guard.
PierrSt stands and steps away. Petz gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Petz tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but PierrSt swivels and escapes. PierrSt misses with a double jab.
PierrSt takes a swing at Petz's ribcage but misses. PierrSt gets a takedown into half guard. PierrSt looks gassed!
That's four minutes gone in the round. PierrSt is thwarting Petz's attempts to control the position. PierrSt seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Petz does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. PierrSt tries to stand and escape but Petz is controlling the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Petz is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Petz is staying active underneath PierrSt, who seems content to just control the action from this position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
George PierrSt dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Petz closes this distance looking for a takedown but PierrSt circles away. PierrSt throws a leg kick but Petz sees it coming and moves out of range. George PierrSt is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. PierrSt closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. PierrSt breaks from the clinch.
PierrSt shoots in for a takedown and gets it. George PierrSt has got the better of the ground game so far. Petz is refusing to be controlled, as PierrSt sits in half guard. PierrSt trying to pass the guard but Petz defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. PierrSt tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Petz. Petz is trying to control but can't.
PierrSt blocks the strikes from Petz.
PierrSt is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Petz has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. PierrSt is working away from the top position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. PierrSt wants to take a breather but Petz is having none of it. Petz trying to hold on to PierrSt's head to control him but PierrSt postures up.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. PierrSt misses with a body kick. PierrSt looks to throw the jab but Petz is out of range. A slow jab from Petz misses its intended target. Petz shoots in but PierrSt avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. PierrSt moves into the clinch successfully.
Petz fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Woo Petz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Petz avoiding damage as PierrSt throws knees to the body.
PierrSt breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. PierrSt gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. PierrSt tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Petz avoids a wild elbow strike from PierrSt. Petz pulls PierrSt into guard.
Petz wants to control but PierrSt passes easily into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. PierrSt stands up out of the half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. PierrSt looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Petz! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. PierrSt manages to capitalize on a mistake by Petz to take his back! Petz turns into PierrSt and is now in his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Petz throws a strike but PierrSt rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Petz controlling PierrSt's posture. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
George PierrSt showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
PierrSt misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
PierrSt shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Petz manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Petz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Petz has a closed guard, preventing PierrSt from standing up. Petz wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Petz trying to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. PierrSt postures up in Petz's guard and throws a big left but Petz blocks it. PierrSt engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
George PierrSt has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Petz gets caught napping as PierrSt dives in and scores a takedown. Petz manages to retain guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Petz is controlling PierrSt's posture. PierrSt must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. PierrSt stands up and waves to Petz to follow him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Petz fails with the takedown and PierrSt counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Petz's guard now. Petz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Petz is trying to control the position but PierrSt postures up. PierrStis looking to pass into half guard but Petz pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Petz is in guard. PierrSt looking to control.
Petz got a little sloppy there for a moment and PierrSt has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Petz has managed to get both his arms back between PierrSt's legs - danger averted. Petz advances position into side control! Woo Petz has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Petz lands some shots froms side control. Petz is working PierrSt over with some ground and pound from side control. Petz is working to tighten is grip on PierrSt's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. PierrSt has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Petz is really squeezing tight and eventually PierrSt passes out! Petz breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
