PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Augustus Antony (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pavel Datsyuk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Antony's entrance music is The Imperial March . A fine choice. Pavel Datsyuk is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Pavel Datsyuk!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Donald Grub and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Datsyuk, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Datsyuk throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Antony tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Datsyuk is in Antony's guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Datsyuk changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Antony looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Antony wants to free his trapped foot but Datsyuk is holding on for dear life with his legs.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Datsyuk postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Antony is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Datsyuk, into his guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Datsyuk accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Datsyuk shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Antony's guard.

Pavel Datsyuk showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Antony has hold of Datsyuk's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Datsyuk manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Antony lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Datsyuk staying busy and making it hard for Antony to control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
